On Tuesday, August 2nd, Artful Steps participated in "National Night Out" with our community partner, All Saints Episcopal Church. The artists displayed their beautiful recent work while making new friends and meeting neighbors. All Saints generously provided wonderful barbecue, side dishes and beverages. Then we were treated to a visit from San Leandro Police Department and the Alameda County Fire Departments National Night Out is sponsored by law enforcement to encourage the community to fight crime and help keep our community safe.

You wanna know what the ILS department is cooking? Well, you have to come to one of our cooking classes to see. Still don't know if you are washing those dishes properly, or vacuuming correctly- come to the ILS department's household maintenance training to find out! We have more to offer this year, as we will start having our monthy trainings again, beginning February 28th- join us! |
Employment Access & EvaluationÂ
It has been a busy month for the Department of Employment Access and Evaluation. We completed four vocational evaluations/assessments on new consumers with the hopes of finding their strenghts and areas of improvement so that we can match them with jobs in the community. It is a tough economy out there, but we did manage to place three consumers into paid jobs this month! This is encouraging news for us and we hope to continue finding suitable employment for our consumers. |
