~ Building Renovation ~In case you didn't know, as part of Stepping Stones extending the lease on our site for another 10 years, the building owner provided a week's worth of free labor and materials to do some long needed renovations of our building. First up was creating a new lobby/reception area for the youth program. We have now greatly enlarged the entry way of the door on MacArthur, so that all of the students, parents, visitors, etc. can enter directly in to the youth area, rather than going through the front lobby of the agency. We still need to paint and do some other minor renovations in the youth area, but this work should be completed shortly. Later in the summer we'll have an open house to showcase these changes. Stay tuned to this page for further updates. The other renovations involved adding a wall and doorway in each of our two separate upstairs areas. The room created in the upstairs in the front of our building will be our new fiscal office and the upstairs area in the back is a second meeting area. Once the fiscal office is moved from its present location to its new upstairs home, we will move our adult computer lab from the back of the building to the front, and the vacated space will then be used as a new computer lab for the youth program. Nothing ever stays the same here. Stop by sometime and see for yourself! |
